The CPD 1214 completes the KD CPD-Series active self-powered System with an excellent Horn loaded-system. Due to its horn loaded coaxial arrangement of the low-mid chassis and mid-high driver the directivity is well balanced for long throw applications. The DSP-Controller works with KS Audio FIR-Filter technology for true impulse-correct reproduction of audio and increased resistance to feedback resulting in a beyond expected sound pressure level that guarantees a natural audibility. Two integrated amplifiers supply 500W for the 12” woofer and 100W for the 1.4” tweeter - with a peak performance of 1200W! The electronics are comprised of a switch mode power supply with Power-factor-Correction, a “cold” PWM amplifier for bass/midrange performance, and an analog FET-amplifier with the best audio characteristics for the mid-high compression Driver. Both the 12” Long throw woofer and the 1.4” compression driver have strong but light Neodymium-Magnets. The 3” membrane of the compression driver consist of a special aluminum alloy that has a clearly reduced distortion factor in comparison to a titanium membrane. The CPD 1214 is equally suited for standard stacking, as well as flying-assemblies with the integrated RIG C flying-system. The speaker cabinet construction is, like all KS systems, built from birch plywood with an extremely robust charcoal colored Polyurethane coating. The power supply on the CPD 1214 operates on all AC 110-240V electrical grids. The starting current is electronically limited.
